Cassondra Holmes is a passionate amateur astronomer and the founder of Stargazer Events, an LA-based mobile observatory dedicated to sharing the wonders of the night sky. With a deep commitment to outreach, she aims to bring the stars directly to people, sparking curiosity and creating life-changing moments.
In her role as a project manager for Astronomy for Equity, Cassondra oversees a range of impactful projects. These include the Big Impact Astronomy Podcast, the Eclipse Glasses for STEM Education initiative, the Blind and Low Vision in Astronomy program, and various crowdfunding campaigns focused on providing telescopes to marginalized and underserved communities worldwide.
Cassondra is also an active volunteer and member of the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, Dark Sky International, and the Planetary Society. Her dedication to making astronomy accessible was recognized with the LA Astronomical Society’s Outreach Award, a testament to her inspiring work in public engagement. Cassondra holds a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of South Alabama, blending her diverse background with a unique approach to education and community involvement.
