Upon receipt of your product, we encourage you to thoroughly inspect it, promptly register it, and familiarize yourself with the applicable warranty coverage outlined below. Product Registration

To ensure maximum warranty coverage, Explore Scientific requires prompt product registration. You may register your product by either:

Most Explore Scientific telescopes, microscopes, binoculars, riflescopes, eyepieces, and other major components include a serial number. Please use this serial number when registering your product.

If your product does not include a serial number, register using the product item number followed by the date of purchase in six-digit format (MMDDYY).
Example: January 1, 2018 = 010118.

Return Authorization (RMA)

We understand your time is valuable, which is why we’ve streamlined our return authorization process. When you purchase an Explore Scientific product, you'll find a serial number on most telescopes, eyepieces and major components. Please use the serial number to register your product.

Once your product is registered, simply visit our returns portal and enter:

  • The reason for return, and
  • The product serial number

This will automatically generate your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).

You may then drop off and pick up your product locally (if applicable) or ship it to us using round-trip shipping.

RMA Number Required

All returns require:

  • Registration of the product under the current owner, and
  • A valid RMA number

Each returned product must include:

  • The RMA number clearly marked on the package
  • A written description of the issue or defect
  • Your name
  • Return shipping address
  • Phone number(s) where you or the carrier can reach you

Shipping Responsibilities

If more than 30 days have passed since the date of purchase, the customer is responsible for shipping costs to return the product to our facility.

We strongly recommend using a shipping carrier that provides tracking and insuring the shipment for its full value. Explore Scientific is not responsible for products lost or damaged in transit if tracking or insurance is not used.

Anytime Free Service

Explore Scientific offers free service for adjustments, cleaning, or collimation on Explore Scientific–branded products—even beyond the warranty period.

An RMA is still required for this service. Simply provide round-trip shipping or arrange drop-off and pick-up, and our technicians will perform the service at no charge.

Warranty Coverage Periods by Product

Explore Scientific warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the periods listed below. During the applicable warranty period, Explore Scientific will repair or replace, at its discretion, any product found to be defective upon inspection.

Warranty coverage is contingent upon:

  • Proof of purchase, and
  • Product registration within 60 days of purchase

Warranty coverage for third-party products is provided by the original manufacturer.

Warranty Eligibility & Geographic Coverage

This Limited Warranty applies to products purchased in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada directly from Explore Scientific or an Authorized Dealer.

Products purchased outside the U.S. and Canada are not covered under this warranty but may be covered by separate warranties offered by authorized international distributors. For international warranty information, please visit: Explore-Scientific.de

Products purchased through non-authorized sellers, including but not limited to Alibaba, AliExpress, or eBay, are not eligible for the USA Limited Warranty.

To ensure your warranty remains valid, always purchase from an Authorized Dealer and register your product within 60 days of purchase.
