Alpen Optics Chisos Series binoculars use extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and phase-coated prisms to deliver intense detail, high contrast and true-to-life color. Available at Explore Scientific, the Chisos lineup offers premium optical performance in waterproof, fogproof bodies designed for birding, hiking, wildlife viewing and travel.
ED glass minimizes chromatic aberration, the color fringing that can appear along high-contrast edges such as branches against a bright sky, so birds and wildlife appear crisp and naturally colored. The Chisos Series spans compact 6.5x32 binoculars for travel, versatile 8x42 and 10x42 models for birding and nature, and larger 10x50 and 12x50 binoculars that gather more light for dawn, dusk and long-distance viewing.
For birding, an 8x42 offers a bright, wide field that makes it easy to locate and follow moving birds, while 10x42 provides more magnification for distant subjects. Larger 10x50 and 12x50 models also make excellent astronomy binoculars for scanning the Moon and Milky Way. Whatever your adventure, Alpen Chisos ED binoculars deliver the clarity to see every detail.
