Questions? Answers.
What does ED glass do?
Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass minimizes chromatic aberration, the color fringing you can see around bright stars, planets and the Moon. The result is sharper, higher-contrast views.
Should I get the 72° or the 92°?
The 72° series gives a wide, comfortable field across eight focal lengths from 6.5mm to 40mm. The 92° series gives an immersive, panoramic field. Use the calculator above to see the magnification and true field each one gives in your telescope.
Will it fit my telescope?
The 72° ED 6.5mm through 20mm use a 1.25" barrel. The 72° ED 25mm, 30mm and 40mm and every 92° ED model use a 2" barrel, so they need a 2" focuser or diagonal.
When will my pre-order ship?
Pre-orders ship as soon as the eyepieces arrive at our Springdale, Arkansas warehouse.
Are they waterproof?
Yes. Every ED Series eyepiece is waterproof, and long eye relief makes them comfortable even if you wear glasses.
What's the warranty?
Explore Scientific–branded eyepieces are covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original owner. See warranty details.
