Deepti Gautam, born in 2004, is a passionate amateur astronomer and educational outreach enthusiast from the scenic region of Rupandehi. Born and raised in a culturally rich region of Nepal, Deepti's venture into the realm of astronomy was a spark that would soon become her life's pursuit.
Education played a pivotal role in shaping Deepti's astronomical aspirations. She embarked on her academic voyage at Gyan Punj Bidhya Mandir Secondary School, where she nurtured her curiosity and laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Moving forward, she pursued higher education at Horizon GBSS, a stepping stone that propelled her towards the limitless expanse of the universe.
The pursuit of knowledge led Deepti to New Horizon College, where she delved into the intricacies of the cosmos, honing her skills and gaining insights into the celestial wonders that captivated her imagination. This educational chapter not only equipped her with the necessary tools for astronomical exploration but also kindled a desire to share her passion with others.
Deepti's commitment to fostering a love for astronomy among her fellow Nepalis became evident through her involvement as a Junior Member at the Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO). Here, she not only expanded her own understanding of the universe but also actively contributed to the astronomical community in Nepal. Her engagement with NASO reflects a dedication to bridging the gap between curiosity and knowledge in the field of astronomy.
Undeterred by the challenges, Deepti took a giant leap in her astronomical journey by founding Astronomy Enthusiasts In Nepal-AEN, an organization that serves as a platform for like-minded individuals to share their passion for the cosmos. As the Founder and Executive Head of AEN, Deepti has played a crucial role in creating a vibrant community of astronomy enthusiasts in Nepal, organizing events, and inspiring a new generation of stargazers.
In addition to her organizational leadership, Deepti is an avid public speaker and lecturer on astronomy, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with audiences eager to explore the wonders of the universe. She is actively involved in showcasing the beauty of the night sky to the public through her telescope, fostering a deeper connection between people and the cosmos.
