Navigate the night sky with confidence—any time of year, from a wide range of northern hemisphere latitudes. The Tirion Double-Sided Multi-Latitude Planisphere is a precision star chart designed to help you quickly identify which stars, constellations, and celestial objects are visible from your location.

Created by renowned celestial cartographer Wil Tirion, this planisphere features a double-sided design that significantly reduces distortion common to traditional star charts. Each side is optimized for viewing either the northern or southern sky, providing clearer, more accurate representations across multiple latitudes.

Crafted from durable plastic and secured with no-corrosion brass rivets, this planisphere is built for years of regular use—whether you’re observing from your backyard, a campsite, or a dark-sky site.

  • Double-sided design minimizes edge distortion for greater accuracy
  • Works across a wide range of northern hemisphere latitudes
  • Designed by Wil Tirion, one of the world’s most respected star map makers
  • Durable plastic construction with brass rivets
  • Identifies stars, constellations, galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters
  • Clearly marks the Milky Way and the ecliptic (planetary path)

Awesome 👌

The basic design of this device is fine. But a planisphere is supposed to twirl easily around the central grommet. My new one arrived permanently bent, and frustratingly difficult to use. I attribute that to the flimsy packaging. - Michael; immediate Past President, The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada
